Your choice
The first time you visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject optional cookies. Necessary tools run either way. Optional ads cookies stay off until you press Accept all. Reopen the banner with Cookie settings in the footer.
Necessary
These keep the site usable. They do not require an extra opt-in under typical EU/UK rules for strictly necessary storage.
- quietfile-consent: remembers Accept all or Reject optional. Stored in local storage. Lasts until you clear it or change it.
- quietfile-comments: stores comments you post in the article box on your device only. Lasts until you clear site data.
Optional (ads and measurement)
These load only after Accept all. They help us see if a Facebook or Google ad brought you here, reduce fake clicks, and (where allowed) make ads more relevant.
- Meta Pixel / Facebook cookies: set by Meta if we install a pixel after consent. May include identifiers such as _fbp. See Meta’s privacy policy.
- Google tags / Google Ads / GA: set by Google if we install a tag after consent. May include identifiers such as _ga or Google ads cookies. See Google’s privacy policy.
Until you accept, we do not fire those tags.
